Lose It Bitch - It's On!

Okay, time to start Resolution #1 (yuck!), but I signed on for it, so I'm going to do it.  And, really, I'll feel much better once I get this polar bear off my ass.  Jay, though he hasn't officially signed on to the contest, is joining me and will be allowing me to post his scale pictures as well.  His goal is to be 170# by his birthday in May.

Okay, deep breath, I can do this...

Yep, that's it 184.5# for me, which gives me a BMI of 35.4, which, as I already knew, is obese.  Damn.
.

Here's Jay's...

It's 198.5#, which gives him a BMI of 30.2, which is just barely obese.  Bastard.  Why is it men can carry more weight than women?  Grrr....

Yes, the scale's that dusty - that's how long we've been avoiding it.  I'll make sure it's thrown through the window cleaned up and pretty by our next weigh in.

We had every intention of starting our workouts today, but we're both still battling this never-ending cold.  Hopefully, by tomorrow we'll be over our snots and coughs long enough to get on the ellipticals.  I'll be posting our progress every Wednesday, with a final weigh in on April 30.  Wish us luck, we'll freakin' need it.

Anyone who wants to follow along can join us at Lose It, Bitches, where we'll be exchanging dieting and exercise ideas.

Ms. Wanda, they may not want to hear that I love them, but they certainly never let a text go by without reading it. It might be something important, right? Loved your post, and thanks for visiting mine.

I'm doing this challenge too. I weigh a WHOLE lot more than you though! We can do this :-) You're off to a great start already, just by getting on the scale.

Mad Woman, getting on the scale was painful enough. Taking the picture - excruciating.

There are some in the challege posting "before" pictures. Since I've been avoiding a camera like the freakin' plague, I ain't doin' that! I'll stick with the scale pictures, thankyouverymuch.

Hi, MNM! I've been finding others via Dual Mom, too. Did you know that there's a blog site set up specifically for us LIB'ers? I joined up there and I think it'll be an easy way to keep up with each other. Good luck.

Thanks for all the support! Kinda makes me feel guilty for being sick today and not working out. Some of you all have already been working out and watching what you eat and all that healthy stuff. Good luck to everyone, and get your stuff ready to mail off to me in April!

Your toes look as though they need a pedi as badly as mine do girl!! A gift to ourselves after the first 10 pounds are off, perhaps?

DM - I told my husband that exact thing this morning! I so need a pedi. Yeah, those flecks of red? My leftover pedi from, well, months ago.

I'm seriously considering making "Just gotta lose the polar bear on my ass" my facebook status. Good luck! You have way more courage than me with those scale shots!

GunDiva. There is the snarky part of me that wants to crack fat jokes; but, seriously, 184.5 ain't bad at all no matter what the medical experts say. If you step on the scale and it says "Tilt" or "GET OFF ME" or busts a spring, you might have an issue with your weight. Otherwise, thank your lucky stars or whatever god you pray to that you are healthy and able to function. Be warned that it is possible to lose too much weight. The Queen and I have some experience in this matter. Seriously, though, good luck.

K, I also have a friend who has mysteriously lost a lot of weight and the docs can't figure it out. She dropped sixty pounds in just over a month and now looks like she's got an eating disorder, when in fact, she'd love to gain weight and she'd love to be able to eat. She just can't; whatever goes down, comes up.
